Potty Training

I wish I was potty training, Isaiah was very interested in the potty for a few months always asking to sit on it and what not so... I got all excited and bought him a potty seat and allowed him to sit on it whenever he asked. Well, not once did he do anything in the potty (except fart once) and not ten minutes later he would go in his diaper. This cycle got old so we just stopped. I know he's still young but it was cruel to get my hopes up like that. I've even tried putting him in underwear and letting him "wet" himself so he knows the feeling and try to go in the potty next time. Just more laundry and cleaning up for mom. If anyone has advice it would be greatly appreciated. Right now I'm just waiting until he seems ready, I don't want to make it a big deal and then scare him into bedwetting until he's 15!

Crawling

My little girl is officially crawling. She has been moving about on the floor by rolling and scooting different ways but last night Joey was playing on the floor with her (after Isaiah went to bed and it was "safe") and she crawled to him. I thought it was just a little thing but after Joey went to bed (Hannah is a night owl and stays up to 10-11pm) Hannah crawled over to the couch I was on! Isaiah has been "learning" to pray for months at night and dinner time we have been praying for him and lately we have let him think of his own prayers with help. It melts your heart to hear your child pray. I usually start with "Dear God, Thank you for..and he fills in. First is always Owen our dog, then usually daddy. He rarely remembers mommy:) then he runs through little boy things, my truck, the christmas tree etc.. But last night he said Thank you for Owen, daddy, mommy, Hannah and Jesus. I had to keep myself from bawling in his room. It was so sweet. I don't know how much he comprehends what he is saying but it felt like an answer to prayer. I can't count how many times I've felt like a failure as a parent, but moments like that make you want to work 10 times harder the next day!

MAMAMA

Hannah endend the night last night by saying MAMA for three minutes straight. This was very exciting for me since my son said DADA first. My little girl is such a peanut at 7 months she is only 14lbs and wearing 3-6 months clothes. She is yet to crawl but has been scooting for more then two weeks. This will be her first Christmas and I still can't believe that she wasn't here last year. She thinks she is a big girl though, she only takes one nap a day now (and has for two months) and copies the sounds her brother makes, esp spitting. The sounds a little girl makes are so different then boys as well. It's been interesting to hear her squeal and scream all day long.

New to Blogging

Well, after enjoying everyone else's blogs and having so many crazy things going on in my own home I thought it was time to start my own blog. If nothing else I can vent about my two year old!:) If you don't know me I'm a 26 y/o wife and mother of two, Isaiah 10-4-06, and Hannah 5-2-08. I've been married 4 1/2 years and work nights as a nurse.
